"Nicely done split CD, both bands really strutting their own here. My only complaint being these cats should of each just done their own full length!
First off is Acrimony with their drone riff upon doom/blues riff s t y l e similar to Acid King's assault of groove upon groove of pure evil classic sludge. Vocals are really melodic and the riffs can take a positive approach from time to time...Somewhere between Raging Slab and Sleep at times. Definitely a band to keep your eye on.
AND of course, Church of Misery, One of Japan's better hard rock bands. These guys are similar to Eternal Elysium, lots of Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Blues Creation, Flower Travelin Band in there...good hooks and just heavy ass classic rock drenched goodness. 100% guitar rock with those damn fine melodic vocals coated over the top. Guys into Sonic Flower might also dig these cats...over the top stoner rock to say the least.
Well, you can't go wrong with this one. Good hooks, heavy riffs- and evil. Not for the timid...the kind of crossroads stories you hear about down south...deep seated blues metal done right. Check out both of these bands if you like later Sabbath, Sleep, Hawkwind, Maiden the works...even Judas Priest fans will certainly appreciate what both of these bands have to offer.Rock!!!"
