Sludge from the land down under.........

We want to thank LEW for this contribution....

"Sydney’s Fattura Della Morte bring out the big guns on this their self released EP Dead. Deader. Deadest. This is good old fashion sludge. Although no new ground is broken, the riffs are heavy as a dump truck and vocalist Benny’s howling is sure to frighten the timid and meek. Even more appealing is the way in which the songs were recorded. They definitely have that gutter vibe while not sounding too much like they were recorded in somebody’s moms’ basement. Every cling of drummer John’s cymbals are just as discernible as the subtle droning feedback echo found on the EP’s last track.

The minute the opening riff begins on the title track and the drums come crashing in it is rather apparent that Dead. Deader. Deadest is quality stuff. Vocalist Benny literally sounds as if he is singing from a gurney en route to the psych ward. The band provides enough bottom to make fat girls the world over blush and lays down riffs that are crunchier that cockroach carcasses. FDM immediately switches it up on the second tune “Mozzarella Rock,” which borders on teeth kicking punk intensity. More bands in this genre should take note of this all too welcome diversity in content. “Resurrectionists” slides back into a thudding groove that wails away while Benny screams bloody murder. The following track “I’ve Got a Message For the Seahawks” sports one of the strangest song titles in recent memory and is a bit of a slower dirge that features a pretty killer bridge. Wrapping things up is “TWOSIXTWOEIGHTZERO” which is a fitting end to an extremely triumphant outing. As the song bullies its way threw the ear canals and into the brain subtle little psychedelic effects begin to present themselves before high jacking the track all together and making the tune the closest sludge will ever come to a cosmic freak-out.

Unfortunately for Fattura Della Morte, it is probably safe to assume comparisons to Eyehategod will abound. Whether this is fair or deserved hardly matters as all five tracks on this EP are stellar platters of skull crushing punishment dished out like FDM are some professional pain merchants. I for one can not wait to hear the LP." (review from StonerRock.com).
