Admiral Browning from Maryland released after some EPs their debut full-length record. The band opened for Stinking Lizaveta, Earthride, Unorthodox, Abdullah and Acid King, played the Stoner Hands of Doom and Doom or be Doomed festivals in the last 2 years. Everything is said? No – the band did a good record, with a lot of great ideas and high musical potential. But without vocals and that is the point that is sad! Because over the whole distance of the recording, I miss the vocals on some parts. The opener MR. MXYZPTLK is a short and fast beginning and you feel the high potential based in that band! Great guitar leads, great power. The following, 9 minute track GOLDEN SPIRAL is more melodic, with great guitar tunes again, but in my eyes over the whole distance too boring. RAGS has a playing time of 10 minutes and is again in mid-tempo with some progressive elements. Focused on the power of the Stoner rock riff, mixed with a lot of tempo changes and they packed a lot of guitar licks and leads in their sound. DOC starts with some Spanish, spacy guitar intro and turns into a groove rock song. A highlight on that record! Heaviest track is the 10 minute riff monster of ZEEKIE, this is a track who needs some less vocals in my eyes, these you get a little at the cool track BASTARD FISH by Steven Kerchner. If you like instrumental music, this is a must have for you! Great band, great songs…
